Grocery shopping is actually one of my favorite times of the week. Some people may find that getting organized and making a list can be tedious, I’ve come up with some grocery list essentials to help you! This way you’ll never be without healthy options to keep you full throughout the week.
First, check out my list of pantry staples. These are things that you should always have on hand and should replenish when out or running low. Check these off and add what is low or out to your shopping list. Second, add extra ingredients to your list for special recipes you plan to make during the week and a couple extra healthy snacks if desired. Third, take this list to the store with you! Never go grocery shopping without a plan.

Tip #1: Don’t go to the grocery store hungry! This may cause you to buy unnecessary and unhealthful items.
Tip #2: Try to get most of your groceries from the perimeter of the store. This is where you will find all your fresh items. Only go to the middle for shelf-stable pantry staples.
Tip #3: Read the label! If you’re trying something new or are wondering if an item is healthful make sure you read the nutrition facts label. Check the serving size to make sure it’s a reasonable portion and double or triple the numbers depending on how much you usually eat to get accurate nutrition information.
