Last weekend I spent a night in New York City with enough activities for a full weekend. My cousin’s bachelorette party was a fun mix of food, drinks, dancing and it was a great NYC experience. It’s good to know a short bus or train ride away leads me to another city I can explore.
Ladies Who Lunch Weekend
Saturday morning. I hopped on a bus from Philly to New York and ended up in SoHo! We all gathered at the beautiful Sixty SoHo hotel. The decor is to die for and the view from the suite was fantastic. To start off the bachelorette festivities we headed next door to Pera Soho. They have a great Mediterranean atmosphere and even better food. We sat outside and shared the Beet and Goat Cheese Dip and the Mediterranean Fries with truffle salt. I ordered Wild Mushroom Omelette with arugula and goat cheese. I figured I should get in some veggies and protein while I still could! Plus some vitamin C in the form of mimosas was in order.
Saturday afternoon. Next we ventured to the cutest little nail salon Hortus in East Village. There was an abundance of green plants, rustic finishes and of course pretty nail polishes. I went with Essie ‘Worth the Wait‘ on my fingernails and Essie ‘Good as Gold‘ on my toenails. Love. Some coffee was in order after maybe a few too many mimosas at lunch. Then we trekked back to the hotel and got ready for the evening.
Saturday night. When we arrived back at the hotel a few girls had already decorated the suite fit for a girls night out soiree. The evening started out with plenty of champagne, treats, games, and selfies on the balcony. After getting ready we headed to dinner at Balaboosta. The food was genuinely amazing. The prix fixe menu consisted of five amazing appetizers to share, one entree and four decadent desserts. I choose the Spiced Rubber Hanger Steak with rainbow peewee potatoes, cipollini, tomato vinaigrette as my entree. But, I have to say I enjoyed the rosé sangria the most! After stuffing out faces with food we went out to Von. Throwback music, dancing, and drinks eventually tired us out.
Sunday afternoon. We survived the night and with water bottles in hand we made our way to The Smith – Nomad for brunch. (I think you can see food was a top priority this weekend.) I ordered the Simple Scramble with home fries, apple smoked bacon and mixed baby greens. I just needed simple with a mimosa on the side. After chatting and reminiscing about the night I made it to my train and headed back to Philadelphia.
